Three Schwarbombs Power an Epic Comeback: Phillies Twitter Roundup

The Phillies came back from a 6-1 deficit to beat the Blue Jays on Tuesday night, 10-9. It’s the type of game that was *built* for twitter reactions. Here’s a look at some of the best content of the night.

Is there anything better than a 1-0 Phillies lead before you even flip the game on? Some context for Schwarber’s 12 leadoff home runs this season:

That was just the beginning of the Kyle Schwarber show, of course.

You may have enjoyed that ninth-inning Schwarbomb, but have you enjoyed it in Spanish? Check out the call from the great Oscar Budejen.

Can't have a huge comeback without falling into a huge hole first. Thanks, Tyler Phillips!

Phillips was a great story for a hot second. We'll always remember his complete game shutout against Cleveland, and we all hope the 26-year-old finds major league success in the future. But right now, for a team jockeying for postseason seeding, he's just not the guy.

Back to Schwarber. Doing something for the first time since Mike Schmidt in 1976 is the Phillies equivalent of the "first time since Tungston Arm O'Doyle."

Schwarber's three-HR game came on the 18th anniversary of Ryan Howard'd iconic three-HR game in 2006, how cool is that?

The biggest takeaway of the night: it's feeling like a special season again. Just look at these guys. So back that they've ripped a hole in the space-time continuum and returned to a place where they've now never actually left.
