One of the greatest Eagles in franchise history's status remains unclear for tomorrow's NFC Wild Card Round matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.
Saturday, NFL Media's Mike Garafolo gave a rather concerning update about Lane Johnson's status for Sunday's playoff game at Lincoln Financial Field:
"Lane Johnson, listed as questionable. And I know we've said all week, 'There is nothing that's gonna keep Lane Johnson off the field.' Well, Ian Rapoport and I have been doing our calls today, there is some concern he could miss this game. He was limited in practice all week. He looked good in spurts, but that's a tough injury, it's a painful injury. I would say that this is a legitimate game-time decision."
Johnson was listed as questionable on the final injury report before this game, as he tries to come back from a lisfranc sprain that sidelined him for the final seven contests of the regular season.
In Johnson's absence, Fred Johnson has stepped in and filled his spot. While Fred has held his own, Lane is a six-time Pro Bowler and one of three players in franchise history that's been a part of two Super Bowl winners. Even at age 35, the Eagles would be in a significantly better position if Lane is able to go Sunday against San Francisco.
