Saquon Barkley did not hold back in his praise of the Eagles' 2024 Super Bowl-winning team.

On the Exciting Mics podcast — hosted by Cooper DeJean and Reed Blankenship — Barkley said he thinks the Eagles are a top-five team of all time.

Barkley's comments will definitely drum up conversation about the validity of his statement and what the best teams of all-time are. Some will say one of the Tom Brady-led New England Patriots teams, or a recent Kansas City Chiefs team with Patrick Mahomes. Older fans will point to teams like the undefeated 1972 Miami Dolphins or the 1985 Chicago Bears.

It's not crazy to say the Eagles should be talked about with those teams. As Barkley pointed out in the podcast, after the Eagles fell to 2-2 at the bye, they dominated the rest of the season. Their only other loss came against the Washington Commanders in Week 16 after Jalen Hurts suffered a concussion in the first quarter.

Outside of that, the Eagles dominated. Barkley was nearly unstoppable on the ground, rushing for over 2,000 yards in the regular season and breaking the all-time record for total yards in a season (playoffs included) with 2,504.

The Eagles' accumulation of talent on both sides of the ball led was something to behold. General manager Howie Roseman built a stacked roster, which led the Eagles to their second-ever Super Bowl, a 41-22 over the Chiefs, preventing a three-peat.

"We didn't care how it looked. The only thing we cared about was winning football games," Barkley said. "And when you have the talent, skill that we have in our team, mixed with the coaches, if we all play together like how we played, teams really stood no chance."

The Eagles roster in 2025 has significant changes, especially on defense. Defensive tackle Milton Williams signed with the Patriots in free agency for four years and $104 million. Josh Sweat penned a deal with the Arizona Cardinals for four years and $76.4 million. Roseman traded C.J. Gardner-Johnson and a sixth-round pick to the Texans for Kenyon Green and a fifth-round selection. Meanwhile, the only significant loss on offense is right guard Mekhi Becton, who left to sign with the Los Angeles Chargers in free agency.

Despite the losses, the Eagles still boast a strong roster heading into 2025. To replace some of Sweat's production, Roseman signed Azeez Ojulari and Josh Uche on one-year deals. The Eagles also drafted Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell in the first round.

But even with some of the additions, the Eagles still might not reach the level of dominance the 2024 roster, which, as Barkley said, has a case for one of the best of all-time.
