Kyle Schwarber's on-base streak has been snapped at 47 games.
Schwarber went 0-for-4 in a 2-1 Phillies victory over the St. Louis Cardinals Friday afternoon in the first half of a doubleheader. It brought an end to an on-base streak that dated back to last season and was the fourth-longest in franchise history, trailing only Mike Schmidt (56), Chuck Klein (49) and Bobby Abreu (48).
Rob Thomson said that while there are some guys who would need an off day after a streak is snapped, he doesn’t see Kyle Schwarber as needing one.

Nonetheless, Schwarber has had a remarkable start in his contract year. Even after an 0-for-4 performance Wednesday afternoon, Schwarber is hitting .261 with 14 home runs, 32 RBIs, 29 walks and a .961 OPS.
He's expected to DH in the second game of the doubleheader, which is slated to begin at 6:15 p.m. ET. Perhaps he can start a new streak this evening.
