After an offseason of uncertainty, it appears Dallas Goedert will return for an eighth season with the Eagles.
Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Wednesday that Goedert and the Eagles "have been in negotiations on a reworked contract that would keep the tight end in Philadelphia."
According to McLane, Goedert will take a small paycut to remain in Philadelphia:
#Eagles and Dallas Goedert have, in essence agreed on the reworked deal -- a restructure of his one-year contract that decreases $14.25M to $10M with up to a possible $1M in incentives.

Goedert had been mentioned as a trade candidate for much of the offseason, which made sense considering he was essentially at a contract crossroads with the Eagles. The 30-year-old was slated to play on the final season of a four-year/$57 million contract in 2025.
At the outset of the offseason, there was perhaps an argument for moving on from Goedert if you could find an adequate replacement via free agency of the draft. That didn't happen, though. So the best scenario for all parties involved was to work out a deal that allows the relationship to continue.
The Eagles selected Goedert in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of South Dakota State. He's racked up 4,085 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns in seven seasons, but has at times struggled to stay healthy.
