Name the 7 pitchers who have allowed 50+ home runs at Citizens Bank Park

  • Phillies

Phillies fans will likely get their first glimpse of Citizens Bank Park's "home run takeover" light display this week. New LED screens, audio upgrades, and a glowing, pulsing Xfinity logo aim to enhance the fan experience after each blast, while the iconic bell will continue to ring over right-center field.

We'll reserve judgment until we see it, but it sounds like... a lot. Maybe too much?

In the meantime, here are the seven pitchers who have allowed the most home runs at the Bank in the ballpark's history:

7. Vince Velasquez - 51 HR

Velasquez allowed over 50 HR in just 279 career innings at CBP, by far the fewest on the list. And Vinnie Velo's 4.65 career CBP ERA is among the highest of the seven.

6. Zach Eflin - 54 HR

Those who were able to name six of the seven pitchers on the list probably didn't come up with Eflin. He has pitched well at the Bank overall, with a career 3.62 ERA in 330.2 innings.

5. Jamie Moyer - 58 HR

Moyer's 4.80 career ERA at the Bank is, surprisingly, the highest among the pitchers on this list. Moyer built a 27-18 career W/L record at Citizens Bank Park despite maintaining that ERA and allowing 58 blasts.

4. Brett Myers - 78 HR

Myers built a perfectly even 28-28 W/L record at the Bank, with a 4.12 ERA in 472.1 innings.

3. Kyle Kendrick - 81 HR

Kendrick, the third of four 2008 World Champions of Baseball on this list, had a respectable 4.39 ERA in CBP, spreading the 81 home runs over 580.2 innings.

2. Aaron Nola - 103 HR

Nola was likely a popular guess for first place on this list, and he could get to the top spot as early as this season. Despite all the long balls Nola has served up over 819.1 innings at CBP, his career ERA there is just 3.21, the lowest on our list of the magnificent seven. He also holds the record for most strikeouts by a pitcher in the ballpark, with 958 and counting.

1. Cole Hamels - 118 HR

Hamels owns this Citizens Bank Park record due to sheer longevity. Hollywood had a career 56-45 record at the Bank with a 3.33 ERA in close to 1,000 innings.
