The Eagles bolstered their pass rush on Monday, signing ex-Giants edge rusher Azeez Ojulari to a one-year, $4 million deal.

New York selected Ojulari out of Georgia in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, with the 50th overall pick. When healthy, Ojulari has been a force: 8.0 sacks in 17 games (13 starts) in '21, 5.5 sacks in 7 games (5 starts) in '22, 2.5 sacks in 11 games (7 starts) in '23, and 6.0 sacks in 11 games (5 starts) in '24. That's a total of 22 sacks in 46 career games, and it's nearly matched by his 21 career tackles for loss.

The knock on the speedy edge rusher during his time with New York was his inability to stay on the field. He was limited by quad, calf and ankle injuries in 2022 and ankle and hamstring injuries in 2023. Last season, he missed the final six games of the year with a toe issue.
But those injuries kept Ojulari in the Eagles' price range. Last week, the team also added veteran pass rusher Josh Uche on a one-year, $1.92 million contract. Birds general manager Howie Roseman is looking to offset the loss of Super Bowl LIX champion Josh Sweat, who signed a four-year, $76 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals after registering 25.5 regular season sacks in the last three years.
