The Sixers signed forward Oshae Brissett to a 10-day contract on Friday, the team announced.

Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer was first to report the news.

Brissett got his foot in the NBA door with the Toronto Raptors in the 2019-20 season, Nick Nurse's second year as the head coach. He's since bounced between the G League and NBA teams such as the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics.

Nurse expects Brissett to help with the team's rebounding while several Sixers are sidelined with various ailments, describing him as a "rebounding machine" after Friday's loss to the Pacers.

Brissett played nearly 23 minutes in the game, logging 14 points and one rebound.

"Little different than I expected," Nurse said of Brissett's debut.

"Usually, he's a rebounding machine and he'll go out there and grab a ton of boards. He had one rebound, one tip-in, came close on a few other offensive ones. Then he scored well, shot the ball really well. So it was a pretty good 23 minutes there for him. Just played a lot of minutes yesterday in the game and traveled in today."

Brissett took the podium after Friday's loss donning a reminder of how quickly his life has changed in the last 24 hours. He wore a bandage covering a wound near his eye. Brissett got it playing in the G League the day prior.

Brissett told reporters that his agent called him on Friday morning to inform him that he had to be on a flight to Philadelphia in a few hours. No chance to stop at a hotel and drop his bags off. Straight to The Center to prepare for his debut with the Sixers.

It's a quick turnaround for Brissett, who will now fly to Dallas for Sunday's game against the Mavericks. But clearly he's no stranger to living life in the fast lane. He's got 10 days to earn the right to get a little comfortable in Philadelphia.
