While the Eagles reportedly added running back AJ Dillon on a one-year deal Wednesday, they've seen quite a few pieces from their Super Bowl LIX team depart in free agency this week.
However, ESPN's Adam Schefter explained on "The Pat McAfee Show" Wednesday how the losses of Milton Williams, Josh Sweat and Isaiah Rodgers in free agency this week have set the Eagles up to get multiple compensatory picks in the 2026 NFL Draft:

General manager Howie Roseman has unquestionably earned the benefit of the doubt, although it is fair to wonder how the Eagles will be able to backfill not only the losses of Williams, Sweat and Rodgers, but also cornerback Darius Slay. Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson was traded to the Houston Texans. Those are pretty significant losses from what was the greatest team in franchise history. Right guard Mekhi Becton is a free agent, and it feels like there's at least as good of a chance he leaves as comes back to the Eagles.
But recouping compensatory picks — even if it won't be until next season — is hardly insignificant. The Eagles already have eight draft picks in 2025, all of which are in the first five rounds. Even if Becton re-signs with the team, the Eagles are slated to have eight picks in 2026, plus whatever compensatory selections they are ultimately awarded. That should give them plenty of flexibility to make trades this offseason, whether it's for a veteran player or to move up and select a prospect they really like.
