The Philadelphia Flyers officially acquired forward Trevor Zegras in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks Monday.
The Flyers sent forward Ryan Poehling, the 45th pick in the 2025 draft and a 2026 second-round pick to the Ducks in exchange for Zegras.
Zegras, 24, was drafted ninth overall by the Ducks in 2019 and played for the Ducks from 2020-2025. In 2022, he was a finalist for the Calder Trophy, awarded to the NHL Rookie of the Year. He had 32 points (12 goals, 20 assists) in 57 games this season amid missing almost seven weeks with a torn right meniscus. He has one season remaining on his current three-year contract before he can become a restricted free agent.
In Philadelphia, Zegras will be reunited with his former teammate and roommate, defenseman Jamie Drysdale. The Ducks sent Drysdale and a second-round pick to the Flyers in January 2024 in exchange for Cutter Gauthier.
