Need a summertime hobby? Well, if you have experience playing quarterback, then you could have the chance to throw the ball to A.J. Brown this offseason.
The Eagles' wide receiver took to social media on Tuesday, requesting a throwing partner for the summer.
"Need a QB in Philly/NJ for the summer. A real QB...Not a fan who thinks they can throw just to hang out with him...no but a real one," Brown wrote in an apparent social media post, which was shared by NBC Sports Philadelphia's John Clark
How cool is this? AJ Brown @1kalwaysopen_ is looking for a quarterback to throw to him this summer to prepare for training camp. Open invitation. AJ posted this on his Instagram. What about @kylemccord16 his new teammate from South Jersey who was drafted by the Eagles?! pic.twitter.com/AH1LndTAZ9
Brown looking for a local quarterback is pretty interesting. He's acting like he's some regular run-of-the-mill receiver, not a three-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl Champion. At his peak, Brown is arguably a top-three receiver in the NFL, but if you're good enough, you might have the chance to throw to him this offseason.
Funnily enough, the answer might be staring him right in the face. Eagles' sixth-round draft pick Kyle McCord is from Mount Laurel, New Jersey and could easily be the answer to Brown's inquiry. If not McCord, there are a couple solid high school quarterbacks from the area. Gavin Sidwar — a senior at La Salle College High School (PA) — is a three-star recruit (per 247Sports) that's committed to Missouri. Semaj Beals is another three-star recruit from Roman Catholic High School.
Who knows what level of quarterback Brown is looking for. He might've been just trolling. Brown is known for being a bit of an odd ball at times. Whether it'd be reading Inner Excellence on the sideline during a game or posting a message following the Super Bowl about how he wasn't satisfied with being a champion, Brown's actions sometimes can't be explained.
What can be is his dominance. Brown has accumulated 4,009 yards in three seasons with the Eagles. He will almost certainly go down as one of the best receivers in franchise history.
If you're lucky and qualified enough, you might get to throw to him in the offseason.
