Since Citizens Bank Park opened in 2004, fans have been able to look out above the batter's eye and see what time it is using the analog clock (assuming they know how to tell time on an analog clock).
But Citizens Bank Park looked a bit differently as the Phillies returned from the All-Star Break. The logo for the 2026 All-Star Game — which Philadelphia will host as part of America's semi-quincentennial anniversary — is now in center field. The clock, which paid homage to the one at Connie Mack Stadium, has been taken down:
Oh come on, man.
That was such a cool little Connie Mack Stadium reference.

This logo will be up in center field through at least July 14, 2026, when Citizens Bank Park hosts the Midsummer Classic. As for what happens after that, a team spokesperson told On Pattison that "no decision has been made at this stage about the clock returning."
In 2025, when 99.9% of people at the stadium have a cell phone with them, does there need to be a clock in the outfield? Probably not. But you would be amazed how frequently that clock gets looked at, something that becomes obvious now that it's not there.
It will be interesting to see what decision the Phillies ultimately make on whether the analog clock returns. To the left of the All-Star Game logo is a CP Rankin ad, while the giant Xfinity "X" was added in 2025. It's not hard to imagine another advertisement going up when the All-Star Game logo comes down.
But there is something to be said for making everything too modern, especially when the appeal of Citizens Bank Park has been the modern classic feel to the stadium. The old-school out-of-town scoreboard was replaced with a digital board that shows ads and analytical numbers — mostly the former — in 2024. Could the clock be the next thing with an old-school charm to go away?
