The Eagles are set to report to training camp a week next Tuesday. After winning Super Bowl LIX, they have endured a mostly drama-free offseason. That's easy when you're coming off a championship.

However, one storyline to continue to monitor is rookie safety Andrew Mukuba. The second-round pick has yet to agree to a deal with the Eagles. He's the only Eagles draft pick that hasn't signed.

Mukuba's situation is something teams across the NFL are experiencing. As of Friday, 30 of 32 second round picks hadn't agreed to deals with their respective teams.

Per NFL Network's Ian Rapaport, Los Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver, Tre Harris, will hold out, after not appearing by the team's July 12th deadline for rookies to report. Rapaport said the disagreement is likely over guaranteed money.

Earlier this offseason, the Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns made surprising decisions to fully guarantee the contract of their rookies, Jayden Higgins and Carson Schwesigner. That has sent a ripple effect around the league, where second round picks are possibly willing to hold out, in hopes for the same guaranteed money.

As of now, there's been no reporting about whether Mukuba will hold out, but it's hard to see Howie Roseman giving Mukuba a fully guaranteed deal if that's what he's asking for.

Considering training camp is right around the corner, the Eagles don't have a ton of time to iron out the situation before starting practice.

The Eagles drafted Mukuba to possibly fill the vacancy left at safety after  C.J. Gardner-Johnson was traded to the Texans. During offseason OTA's Mukuba was competing alongside Sydney Brown and Tristin McCollum.

Brown is the most experienced, starting six games as a rookie, before tearing his ACL, which limited his playing time. McCollum was a reserve last season and will now be competing for more playing time. If Mukuba misses a portion of training camp, it could give Brown and McCollum an advantage in the competition.

The Eagles could also look elsewhere to bolster the safety position. Veteran Justin Simmons is still a free agent, and in May, NFL Network's Brian Baldinger said that the 31-yeard-old had a desire to play in Philly. Simmons is past his best, but is still an experienced player that thrived under Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, during their time together in Denver.

As of now, signing Mukuba is likely the Eagles' main priority. Simmons could be a last resort, especially if Mukuba ends up holding out, but there's been no indication of that yet.

If Mukuba isn't signed in the next few days, questions will start to arise about the situation. However, it could be avoided if the two sides come to an agreement.

The clock is ticking.
