Eagles cornerback Darius Slay and Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford were teammates on the Detroit Lions from 2013 through 2019.
The Lions selected Stafford with the first overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft, the season after they went 0-16. They drafted Slay 36th overall in 2013.
After Slay's Birds took down Stafford's Rams, Slay spoke to The Philadelphia Inquirer's Olivia Reiner about facing his longtime teammate:
Darius Slay on facing former teammate Matthew Stafford: "It was fun as hell until he started trying me the last two drives. Like goddamn, Staff. Like, damn. Calm the fuck down. Like, shit. I know you've been slinging this motherfucker. Sling that motherfucker somewhere else." pic.twitter.com/5e1XGz1fk5
Stafford finished the game with 26 completions on 44 attempts for 324 yards, throwing two touchdowns and no interceptions. He was sacked five times.
Slay, meanwhile, was solid in coverage most of the day, even if Stafford and his receivers gave him fits late. The cornerback also tied a few other Eagles for the team high in tackles (6) and solo tackles (5).

In the end, Slay's team walked away with the most important stat: one win.
