"Only in Philadelphia" gets thrown around a lot these days, but the phrase is definitely applicable to this little tale.
On February 9, Eagles edge rusher Jalyx Hunt performed a bow and arrow celebration after sacking Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl LIX. On Saturday, the NFL fined Hunt $5,690 for unsportsmanlike conduct involving a "violent gesture."

And on Sunday, actor Rob McElhenney--a known Philadelphia sports enthusiast--offered to pay the fine for the Birds rookie.
Hey @jalyx_hunt if this is true hit me up.
Sorry, to clarify… do not hit me. DM me.
I’ll pay this fine. Worth every penny. https://t.co/9mUSD5WUdI
Hunt declined to let the Always Sunny in Philadelphia star pay the fine, but encouraged McElhenney and others to donate to a Barbers Who Care fundraiser to help 40 students from Boys Latin Of Philadelphia High School go on a college tour.
Mannn 😂🤦🏿♂️
I appreciate yall reaching out about pay the fine, but if y’all are serious about it let’s make a deal… I’ll pay the fine and y’all send the money to a great cause I learned about from my barber in Philly ⬇️
Go Birdssss!! 🦅https://t.co/nXWpzAtEt6 https://t.co/taseOA22xu
McElhenney redirected the cash as suggested.

It's unclear why the league deemed Hunt's celebration a "violent gesture." Ex-Eagle Trent Cole (who formerly donned Hunt's number 58 jersey) did the exact same thing for years.
Jalyx Hunt, who wears Eagles Legend Trent Cole's # 58 and literally has the last name Hunt, was doing Eagles Legend Trent Cole's bow and arrow sack celebration. Trent Cole had 93 career sacks, so his family would have starved if the NFL had decided this was fineable before today https://t.co/hRelJp7sRD pic.twitter.com/uhoBuCV4x2
In any event, kudos to both Hunt and McElhenney for turning the ridiculous fine into something that benefits a good cause. Super Bowl LIX is the gift that keeps on giving, it seems.
