Major League Baseball unveiled the 2026 schedule Tuesday. Finally, we have a glimpse at what next season's slate will look like for the Phillies:

Here is the 2026 Phillies schedule. Notable: They’ll play only four home games in a 25-day stretch during June-July to accommodate World Cup and All-Star Game in Philly.

Here are five immediate takeaways from the Phillies' 2026 schedule:

1. Phillies Will Open At Home

Opening Day for the Phillies in 2026 will come at Citizens Bank Park, as they are slated to host the Texas Rangers on Thursday, March 26. There's then the built-in off day on March 27 in case of inclement weather on Opening Day, before the Phillies finish off their series with weekend matchups against the Rangers on March 28 and 29.

While there's not really any connection between the two teams, this will be the third time that the Phillies and Rangers meet to open the season, and first in Philly.

Despite Cliff Lee getting shelled, the Phillies defeated the Rangers 14-10 on March 31, 2014. Jimmy Rollins hit his 200th career home run in this game, doing it in the form of a grand slam at Globe Life Park:

The two teams met again to open the 2023 season, with the Rangers erasing an early 4-0 Phillies lead by hanging nine runs on Aaron Nola and company in the bottom of the fourth inning at Globe Life Field. Texas, who would go on to win the World Series, ultimately won the game 11-7.

2. The Return Of The Extended Homestand (And Roadtrip)

In 2025, the Phillies have had about as balanced of a schedule as possible. Their schedule hasn't featured a single homestand longer than seven games, and the recent roadtrip that saw them visit Texas, Cincinnati and Washington was the only 10-gamer of the season.

However, with Philadelphia set to host both the MLB All-Star Game and select World Cup games in July, the Phillies will go more than two weeks between home games during that month from July 2 vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates and July 17 vs. the New York Mets.

To make up for that stretch, the Phillies will have a nine-game homestand in April that will see the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves visit Citizens Bank Park. They'll have another nine-game homestand following the All-Star Break, with the New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees coming to town.

In addition to a nine-game roadtrip in the first half of July that will see the Phillies visit the Kansas City Royals, Reds and Detroit Tigers, they'll have another nine-game roadtrip that starts in late-August and bleeds into early September. Between Aug. 24 and Sept. 2, 2026, the Phillies will play road series against the Seattle Mariners, Los Angeles Angels and Arizona Diamondbacks. Finally, the last road trip of the season for the Phillies will see them travel to Atlanta, Washington and New York (NL) from Sept. 11-20.

3. Laptops Beware

The Phillies didn't visit Camden Yards this year, but will travel to arguably the nicest stadium in baseball in 2026.

On July 31, Aug. 1 and Aug. 2, the Phillies will make the short trek to Baltimore to play a three-game series with the Orioles. It will be a particularly fun series if the O's have bounced back from a disastrous 2025 campaign and are again contending next season.

It will be the first time the Phillies have played at Camden Yards since, well, you know:

With that said, my new laptop will probably be safe because the pressbox at Camden Yards is set to be moved elsewhere after this season to make room for more premium seating

4. "No, It's Iowa"

Matt Gelb and Dan Hayes of The Athletic were the first to report the correct details regarding the "Field of Dreams" game, which will see the Minnesota Twins host the Phillies at the site of the iconic 1989 film in August.

The Phillies are scheduled to play the Twins the weekend of Aug. 14-16. The schedule does not yet reveal which of those games will be played in Dyersville, Iowa. But Hayes says this:

This will be the first time that MLB has played at the Field of Dreams since 2022.

5. An NL-East Heavy September

While the final series of the 2026 regular season will see the Phillies host the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays, they'll have had plenty of opportunity to decide the fate of the NL East earlier that month.

The Phillies are set to host the Braves the weekend of Sept. 4-6, before playing Atlanta at Truist Park three times the following weekend. As noted above, the Phillies have nine road games against divisional opponents from Sept. 11-20, a 10-day period where they will play nine games against the Braves, Nationals and Mets. That stretch could decide who wins the NL East, along with a Wild Card spot(s) in the senior circuit.

Ideally, the NL East would come down to the Phillies playing the Mets or Braves during the final series of the season. But a month of September full of NL East matchups isn't a bad consolation prize.
