Another major professional golf event is coming to southeastern Pennsylvania - this one in Lehigh Valley.

Officials from Jefferson Health, the PGA TOUR Champions, and Lehigh Country Club announced a five-year agreement to host the Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic, a new tournament on the PGA TOUR Champions schedule, starting in fall 2026.

The inaugural event will take place the week of September 28, 2026, and is expected to deliver a $50 million economic impact to the region.

The annual tournament will bring some of golf’s biggest legends to Allentown, including Ernie Els, Padraig Harrington, Bernhard Langer, and Stewart Cink, as part of a 78-player field. All three rounds will be broadcast on GOLF Channel and distributed internationally in more than 170 countries.

“This is all about making a long-term, positive impact on the Lehigh Valley and the surrounding areas,” said Dr. Joe Cacchione, CEO of Jefferson Health in a statement. “As we continue to integrate our two leading health systems, it’s important that we drive awareness and access to our uncompromising care throughout the region.”

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit several nonprofits in the region, with Valley Youth House and the Eagles Autism Foundation named as the primary beneficiaries of the inaugural event. Both organizations praised the partnership, citing its potential to improve outcomes for vulnerable youth and individuals with autism.

The Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic will be held at Lehigh Country Club, widely considered one of Pennsylvania’s premier golf venues. Designed by acclaimed architect William S. Flynn and opened in 1928, the course is known for its challenging layout, elevation changes, and historic charm.

HNS Sports Group, an experienced golf event management firm, will oversee tournament operations. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit Tournaments for Charity will serve as the official host organization.
