Eagles chief security officer Dom DiSandro and coach Nick Sirianni each tried to calm defensive tackle Jalen Carter down late in the fourth quarter as he jawed with both New Orleans Saints players and fans. They're willing to deal with some immaturity from Carter because when he has flashes where he looks like a Hall of Fame-caliber player.

One of those stretches came in Week 3's 15-12 win over the Saints when Carter put together arguably the best game of his young career.
The #Eagles DT Jalen Carter had the greatest game I have ever seen from a DT vs the Saints.
He impacted 18 total plays (in 51 snaps). I have never seen a DT have that high of a rate when it comes to his impact on a game. Absolutely incredible game by one of the best IDL in the… pic.twitter.com/eR3dfX2YUk
The Eagles were able to hold a Saints offense that had scored 91 points through the first two weeks of the season to just 12 points because of a tremendous performance from Vic Fangio's defense, which had really struggled prior to Sunday. Carter was at the forefront of that, with four total tackles, two passes defended, two tackles for a loss and one quarterback hit. As the highlight above shows, though, Carter wrecked a bunch of other plays that didn't necessarily show up in the box score.
In fact, his 93.5 PFF grade was the top mark among all interior defenders in Week 3:

Carter showed flashes in his rookie season of potential dominance. Perhaps Week 3's performance against the Saints was a sign that he's about to emerge as one of the league's elite defensive linemen.
