It's been a difficult week for hamstrings in Philadelphia sports.
A day after DeVonta Smith popped up on the injury report for the Eagles with a hamstring injury, Shams Charania of ESPN reports that the Sixers will be without Tyrese Maxey for a while as he deals with "a right hamstring injury."
Just In: Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Tyrese Maxey is expected to miss a couple of weeks because of a right hamstring injury, sources told ESPN. Full evaluation coming later Thursday but sides are bracing for Maxey’s absence. Sixers will take careful approach with the injury. pic.twitter.com/sPxFnsylYF
This is obviously particularly problematic for the Sixers given that they are off to a 1-6 start, having lost 110-98 to the Los Angeles Clippers Wednesday night.
Paul George has now played in two games, while Joel Embiid is expected to make his season debut on Nov. 12 against the New York Knicks. Obviously, though, neither of those two have clean health histories. And it now appears it will be even longer until the full big three of Maxey, George and Embiid plays together for the first time during a regular season game.
